SYRACUSE, NEW YORK— Today, U.S. Representative John Katko (NY-24) announced $375,000 in federal funds for community organizations focused on addressing youth substance abuse in Central New York. This award is from the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) as part of their Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Support Program. The DFC Program provides grants to community coalitions to strengthen the infrastructure among local partners to create and sustain a reduction in local youth substance use.

SYRACUSE, NEW YORK— U.S. Rep. John Katko (NY-24), today announced that the Town of Rose has been awarded $3.6 million in federal funding from United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) as part of the Rural Development Program. This funding follows Rep. Katko’s support for The Agriculture and Nutrition Act of 2018, also known as the Farm Bill. With his advocacy, the Farm Bill was signed into law and included provisions to bolster the USDA’s Rural Development Program—a program that promotes rural American prosperity and provides funding for community and economic development in rural areas. Funding for the Town of Rose will be distributed in the form of federal loans through the USDA’s Rural Development Program.
SYRACUSE, NEW YORK — Today, U.S. Rep. John Katko (NY-24) and Superintendent of Schools for the Sodus Central School District, Nelson Kise, announced that the U.S. Department of Education has awarded $2.5 million to the Sodus Central School District along with Lyons, Newark, North-Rose Wolcott, and Clyde-Savannah School Districts over the next five years to bolster on-site mental health services with an emphasis on prevention as part of the Mental Health Service Professionals Demonstration Program.
SYRACUSE, NEW YORK – U.S. Rep. John Katko (NY-24) and Onondaga County Sheriff Gene Conway today announced that the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office has been awarded nearly $250,000 in federal funding by the U.S. Department of Justice as part of the STOP School Violence Prevention and Mental Health Training Program. Last year, Rep. Katko and Sheriff Conway urged support for this type of funding to bolster school safety and keep children safe following the horrific shooting in Parkland, Florida.
SYRACUSE, NEW YORK — U.S. Rep. John Katko (NY-24) announced today that, with his advocacy, Wayne County Water and Sewer has been awarded $500,000 in Northern Border Regional Commission (NBRC) funding to support water infrastructure improvements. This is the second NBRC grant Wayne County has received in 2019, since Rep. Katko last year advocated for Wayne County to be added to a list of counties in New York State eligible for NBRC funding opportunities.
SYRACUSE, NEW YORK – U.S. Rep. John Katko (NY-24) and Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon today announced $4,000,000 in new federal dollars for the Onondaga County Department of Children and Family Services over the next four years. Award Follows HUD Secretary Ben Carson Visit to Syracuse in June
SYRACUSE, NEW YORK – U.S. Rep. John Kakto (NY-24) this afternoon applauded the award of $5.6 million in federal funding to Onondaga County by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for lead remediation. This award follows a June visit to Syracuse by HUD Secretary Ben Carson for a roundtable discussion on lead paint remediation hosted by Rep. Katko.
