Rep. Katko to Hold Telephone Town Hall for Local Seniors with Expert from the IRS
SYRACUSE, NY— U.S. Rep. John Katko (NY-24) today announced details for a Telephone Town Hall he will hold on Tuesday, July 21. Rep. Katko will be joined by a representative from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Together, they will take questions from listeners, provide seniors with information and resources on Economic Impact Payments (EIPs), and discuss the status of taxpayer services amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Over the past several weeks, I’ve heard from local taxpayers who have struggled with accessing EIPs or experienced significant delays in receiving their 2019 tax refund,” said Rep. Katko. “That’s why, on Tuesday July 21st at 12:45pm, I will host a Telephone Town Hall for local seniors with an expert from the IRS. We will take questions from local seniors, provide information and resources regarding EIPs and the 2019 tax filing process, and address confusion surrounding the IRS’s delivery of EIPs by debit card. I look forward to answering your questions, and encourage anyone who is interested to sign up or listen in on Facebook.”
