SYRACUSE, NY— U.S. Rep. John Katko (NY-24) today announced $6,392,157 in federal funds will be distributed to PEACE Inc., a local community-based organization dedicated to empowering underserved individuals, children, and families through the administration of support services and programs. In Central New York, PEACE Inc. serves communities throughout the region and operates facilities in the City of Syracuse, East Syracuse, Tully, and Baldwinsville.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. John Katko (NY-24) today led an effort alongside Republicans from New York State’s Congressional Delegation urging Governor Cuomo to take advantage of forthcoming tax regulations from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and provide state and local tax (SALT) relief to local small businesses. Rep. Katko was joined by U.S. Reps. Lee Zeldin (NY-1), Elise M. Stefanik (NY-21), Tom Reed (NY-23), and Chris Jacobs (NY-27) in this effort.

Katko: Inspired by Local Hero, Bill’s Promise Will Make Our Communities Safer

SYRACUSE, NY— Seven years after the David Renz attack, U.S. Rep. John Katko (NY-24) today announced the Government Accountability Office (GAO) will conduct a comprehensive review of failures in the pre-trial release system and provide information that will help improve protections for victims. It was authorized after Rep. Katko led a bipartisan effort urging the GAO to begin the study he proposed under the Bill’s Promise Act.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. John Katko (NY-24) today announced the House of Representatives passed bipartisan legislation to designate the Fayetteville Post Office, located at 599 East Genesee Street, the ‘Corporal George H. Bacel Memorial Postal Facility.’ Last year, Rep. Katko announced the introduction of this bill alongside Bacel’s four children and extended family, as well as representatives for ClearPath for Veterans and Mayor of Fayetteville Mark Olson.

SYRACUSE, NY— In an effort to mitigate the risk of flooding on Lake Ontario in 2021, U.S. Reps. John Katko (R, NY-24), Anthony Brindisi (D, NY-22), Joseph Morelle (D, NY-25), and Chris Jacbos (R, NY-27) today called on the International Joint Commission (IJC) to deviate from the water management procedures prescribed by Plan 2014. Following the IJC’s implementation of water level management procedures under Plan 2014, Lake Ontario’s southern shore experienced record high water levels and severe flooding in 2017 and 2019.

WASHINGTON— U.S. Rep. John Katko (NY-24) last night voted in favor of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) Conference Report, bipartisan, bicameral legislation that authorizes the budget and expenditures for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) for Fiscal Year 2021.

The NDAA, which now heads to the President’s desk, includes several Katko-authored measures to address gaps in the nation’s cyber defenses, expand access to mental healthcare, and bolster national security. Additionally, the NDAA authorizes a 3% pay raise for U.S. servicemembers and includes several critical funding levels that will support local manufactures and workers.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. John Katko (R, NY-24) today announced the introduction of the Jumpstart for Head Start Act, legislation that would provide $1.7 billion in emergency COVID-19 relief funds for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’s (HHS) Head Start program. Rep. Katko introduced this bipartisan bill alongside U.S. Rep. Joe Neguse (D, CO-02).

Katko will serve as the top Republican on the Committee and will prioritize efforts to thwart terrorism, bolster border security, and address the nation’s cybersecurity vulnerabilities.
