SYRACUSE, NY— U.S. Rep. John Katko (NY-24) today announced details for a virtual workshop on fraud prevention for Central New York seniors.
The workshop will be held via Zoom on October 2, 2020 at 10:30am, and individuals must pre-register. Rep. Katko will be joined by experts from the U.S. Postal Service (USPS), Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department, and Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office. Together they will provide information and resources on how to spot scams and report them. They will also take questions from listeners.

Bipartisan Bill Ensures Overburdened Suicide Calls Centers Can Meet Rising Call Volumes to the Suicide Prevention Lifeline

John Katko (NY-24) today announced the passage of the Suicide Prevention Lifeline Improvement Act, bipartisan legislation he introduced to bolster aid for local suicide crisis centers. Rep. Katko announced this bipartisan measure last year alongside local service providers at Contact Community Services in Syracuse.
