SYRACUSE, NEW YORK — Today, U.S. Rep. John Katko (NY-24) released the following statement on President Trump’s Executive Order to strengthen America’s cybersecurity workforce:

“Our nation’s cybersecurity workforce shortage is staggering, not only today, but in the future. It is absolutely critical we increase the number of cybersecurity professionals so all United States citizens and enterprises are safe online. I am encouraged the President is committed to seriously addressing this shortage, and Congress must work with the Trump Administration in pursuit of this mission. In order to eliminate the gaps in America’s cybersecurity workforce, it is going to take entities in the government, private sector, and academia partnering together. I look forward to collaborating with the Department of Homeland Security as they implement the work outlined in the Executive Order.”

Rep. Katko serves as Ranking Member on the Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection and Innovation Subcommittee within the House Homeland Security Committee.
