STATEMENT FROM U.S. REP. JOHN KATKO ON COMPROMISE IMMIGRATION BILL
WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Rep. John Katko (NY-24) released the following statement regarding the compromise immigration bill, the Border Security and Immigration Reform Act.
"I am deeply disappointed we were not able to move forward the compromise immigration bill before the House today. This measure took steps forward to fix our current, broken immigration system by keeping families together, enhancing border security, and providing status for Dreamers.
"Despite today’s result in Congress, I remain steadfast in my commitment to deliver immigration reform. I believe that must be done in a bipartisan manner, and I will continue to work with lawmakers from both parties to find a workable and comprehensive solution to this issue."
